TVPS launched Time to Test, a community HIV testing initiative, in January 2014. Time to Test offers free, rapid HIV testing in discreet venues throughout Berkshire, offering a high level of confidentiality.

We offer a choice of two tests

  • Finger prick test uses a small amount of blood to give results in 60 seconds
  • Oral swab test uses saliva to give results in 20 minutes

When you test with us

  • With every test you will have a pre and post test discussion so you can talk over any concerns or ask any questions you may have
  • You will receive your results at the appointment
  • We give a three month supply of free condoms with every appointment and have a great selection so you can choose which condoms suit you or try something new!

  • We see people by pre-booked appointment only, but will do our best to find a day and time that fits in around your schedule.
  • We have day time and evening appointments available
  • When booking your appointment we only require your first name and a phone number or e-mail address
  • The venue address will be given when you make contact with us
  • You can book by phone or e-mail

Living in West Berkshire?

If you are living in the boundaries of West Berkshire Council you can ether book a community test, as mentioned above, or choose from two other methods of testing - home or postal.

Postal testing

Visit our website and use the order form to get a postal test sent to you.The test requires you to take a small sample of blood, place the sample in the free-post envelope and post it back to our lab. You will be contacted by a text message or phone to receive your result.

To see if you are eligible to order the test, visit our testing website and check your postcode.

Home testing

To find out more about home testing and how to book visit our testing website.
